Fibre Optics

Fiber optic or optical fiber refers to the medium and the technology associated with the transmission of information as light impulses along a glass or plastic wire or fiber. Fiber optic wire carries much more information than conventional copper wire and is far less subject to electromagnetic interference.

Single-mode Fiber

In optical fiber technology, single-mode fiber is optical fiber that is designed for the transmission of a single ray or mode of light as a carrier, and is used for long-distance signal transmission. For short distances, multi-mode fiber is used.

Multi-mode Fiber

In optical fiber technology, multi-mode fiber is optical fiber that is designed to carry multiple light rays or modes concurrently, each at a slightly different reflection angle within the optical fiber core.
